Proverbs 15:15 AMPC All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of circumstances].

The definition of foreboding is, “a sense of impending evil or misfortune, a strong inner feeling or notion of a future misfortune, evil, etc”.

This describes a spiritual condition that many Christians are caught unaware of. Things are going along fine, then all of a sudden these thoughts, these feelings that something bad is going to happen. Or a minor situation in our minds becomes a major avenue to depression. So many Christians go through life expecting to hear some bad news, some big problem, some negative information that is going to ruin their day and throw them into a state of depression. Some of us are so used to it, it is a way of life. We do not realize it is a spirit sent by the enemy to trouble us.

Satan has built a strong holds in our minds that cause us to look for and anticipate something negative or impending doom and gloom instead of the good things God has in store for our lives. What we do not realize is that this is a production that is going on only in our minds.

Is it possible that fear has become your main counselor? So much so that it’s hindering how you face your future? If so, you may be listening to foreboding spirits that will in the long run, hinder a life of faith, power and victory. If the enemy can keep you afraid, then he’s got you locked out from moving forward in faith to the great things God has in store for you. Worst yet, that fear can, over the long haul, condition you into seeing your life through a constant foreboding perspective. Foreboding is fear’s way to proving itself to you, so that you will believe it, make it your reality and follow its lead. Forebodings are a constant irritation- the dripping sound of what if’s and the dread of… waiting. It’s a subtle, dark, brooding presence hovering over you.

You are reading this today because today is the day for you to stop this irritation in your life. Let me give you a scripture to help those of you who are facing this constant assault. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing rises up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”

The very next time the enemy starts you down that path, recognize what he is doing, take that thought captive and declare in the name of Jesus, I am not expecting evil or negative or bad things to happen to me. Command the enemy in the name of Jesus to take his hand off your mind. Do it right now! Say it with me, “In Jesus name, take your hand off of my mind” I declare that strong hold shattered and destroyed.

Every time the enemy tries to bring those thoughts back use your divinely powerful weapons, the Word of God, remind the enemy and yourself what the Word of God promises you.

The Word of God promises me in James 1:17 that every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above.

The word of God promises me in Luke 6:38, Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

The Word of God promises me in, Philippians 2:19 my God shall supply all my need through his riches and Glory in Christ Jesus.

The word of God promises in Psalm 84:11, For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Our heavenly father knows how to give us good gifts! Start expecting good things in your life.
